Now more than ever, our movement needs a spirit of shared energy, innovation, and generosity to keep it strong.
At ACT, we know the clean energy transition isn’t just about technology or policy; it’s about people coming together to push toward a common goal. That’s precisely what happened when longtime member and clean energy champion Jim Bride, President of Energy Tariff Experts, saw an opportunity to lend a hand and took it.
Let’s face it: with a small but mighty team and a growing list of members, partners, and programs who need policy support, managing ACT’s contact lists and communications is no small feat. Our membership team had identified a software tool, Zapier, that could help us streamline workflows, onboard new members more smoothly, and stay better connected with all of you. But like many tools that help nonprofits run smarter, it wasn't in the budget.
That’s when Jim stepped up.
At a recent event, our Director of Public Policy Natalie Hildt Treat, was chatting with Jim about the challenges of scaling systems during a critical time for clean energy. When she mentioned the Zapier gap, Jim didn’t hesitate.
“That’s nothing,” he said. “I’ll cover it.”
And just like that — he did.
We've already begun automating the essential backend work. That means faster member onboarding, more timely updates, and less time on logistics, so our team can focus more on helping you navigate policy changes in your state.
In a time when federal investments are under threat and disinformation is spreading fast, putting your projects at risk, acts like Jim’s are more than kind—they are powerful game changers. They remind us that every contribution counts and that we all move forward together when members support members.
Feeling inspired? We hope so. Whether offering your expertise, sharing a tool, or sponsoring a new initiative, there’s always a way to advance this movement.
Interested in helping? Contact us anytime at membership@joinact.org. We’d love to hear your ideas and explore what’s possible together.
Let’s build the future, one connection, one contribution, and one act at a time.
